Make personal video game history and raise funds for kids at my local children's hospital.

Who am I?

My name is Michael Cappella. As of this current Extra Life I am a 25 year old high school social studies teacher who is looking to raise money for a good cause during my free time.

What will I be doing?

FIVE!!! I am back for my 5th Extra Life Fundraiser. As with my past fundraisers HISTORY LIVES ON!! This year I will be playing Super Metroid. This game is celebrating its 30th anniversary (sorry to those who feel old now). I have played Metroid games before but never got around to playing through this one.

The goal is going to be $1000!!!! Yes I am going for it.

But Wait There's More!!

Just like last year I decided that if we beat the goal I will doing something else. This year I will be playing Halo 1 and Halo 2. I have never played these games and Halo 2 is celebrating its 20th anniversary (again sorry to those who feel old)

Why am I doing this?

I am just a guy who wants to make my passion for video games mean something more than just enjoyment for me. If I can raise just $1 for my children's hospital I will feel like something has been accomplished. It will be one more dollar than they had.

Here's how it works (more on Extra Life)

  • Extra Life is a gaming and DIY fundraising platform supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

  • I'm joining thousands of gamers, dedicating a day to play games and raise funds from friends like you.

  • 100% of the donations go to my local children's hospital.

Your donation is tax-deductible and will make miracles happen for families who desperately need them. Simply click the "Donate" button at the top of this page to help.
