DONATE

I'm back for Extra Life 2024!

2024 will be my eighth year raising money for the SickKids Foundation and the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.

Check out 2023's 24-hour stream!

At 9:30 PM EDT on November 1, I will be starting my eighth annual Extra Life 24-hour fundraising marathon and livestream. This year I will be leading with the 1997 adventure into the Great Underground Empire, Zork: Grand Inquisitor.

I will take on the role of a Frobozz Electric "PermaSuck" vacuum cleaner salesperson known as the AFGNCAAP—the Ageless Faceless Gender Neutral Culturally Ambiguous Adventure Person. Stuck outside moments before curfew and fearing for my life, I will be assisted by the wizard Dalboz (his spirt trapped in a lantern and voiced by the legendary Michel McKean) on my quest to confront the Grand Inquisitor (Erick Avari) and restore magic to Zork.

You can watch right here or on Twitch! Please give generously. It's tax-deductible and every penny goes towards funding life-saving treatments, child and family-centred care, research, and pediatric medical equipment. I will also be regularly streaming in the leadup to the big day, so come drop by!

Canadian supporters please note: Donations and incentives are listed in USD by default. You can change this to CAD if you donate via credit card.

Incentives

By picking an incentive and donating the required amount you can influence my fundraising stream or even get me to do a stream dedicated to your incentive.

Pick a Game

Choose a game from the year 2000 or earlier and I will play it for at least half an hour during my marathon stream. I will keep this incentive available until my marathon, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to get a hold of games chosen too close to the big day. Jump on this one early! The game must be for a platform I have access to, namely: Commodore 64, MS-DOS, Windows, NES, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo 64.

3/4 claimed:

1. Tecmo Bowl (NES, 1989)

2. Virtual Bart (SNES, 1994)

3. Super Mario All-Stars (SNES, 1993)

Pick a Destination

Pick a location anywhere in the world (anywhere!), and during my marathon I will fly to it in Microsoft Flight Simulator and do some sightseeing.

4/4 claimed:

1. Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA

2. Museu do Ipiranga, São Paulo, Brazil

3. Westminster Abbey, London, UK

4. Twin Pines Orchards, Ontario, Canada

Fencing Lesson

Retro video games aren't the only old things I enjoy. If you select this incentive I will give you a one hour lesson on 17th century Italian fencing! I will provide all equipment, but please be located in the GTA (or willing to travel here).

Eat Hot Pierogi

Unfortunately, last year's planned "Eat Hot Chip" incentive had to be cancelled. However, it will be replaced by... Eat Hot Pierogi. If a generous (cruel?) person donates $666, I will plan a stream on Twitch where I will eat a pierogi with hot sauce that closely matches the Scoville rating of the tortilla chip I planned to eat as part of the cancelled incentive. Then I will carefully wash my hands and play some games. We will see how long I last before I need to drink a gallon of milk.

Milestones

Unlike incentives, which must be donated by a single person, milestones are unlocked when my overall fundraising reaches certain levels.
