OUR STORY

As a child Samuel, the youngest in the picture above, had a form of cancer called Wilm's Tumor, at that point the success rate for survival was much lower than it is now and the chemo he needed did a number to his body. However, with much prayer and the help of the BC Children's Hospital's incredible Doctor's, Nurses and support staff, he is still with us today :) He also took part with some of the experimental chemo's and procedures to help develop better medicines and options to aid in fighting Wilm's Tumor and increasing the odds of survival for future generations. 

The work the Children's Hospitals do and the care they offer for the entire family, helps so much for those going through the fear and anxiety of childhood sickness. Even Samuel's older brother, Josiah (the oldest in the picture above), was treated super well and could always help himself, and his brother, to the Popsicle's and games room offered at the hospital. 

I often wonder if the games room with board games, video games, musical instruments, story books and even a pool table, is what started Samuel on his desire for gaming in the first place, lol. A Big Thank You to the BC Children's Hospital for all you did for our family and so many others :)

Throughout our stream we offer many different ways to interact with our players and cause some fun chaos by donating to our Extra Life campaign. All the funds received during the event, both online and in our Sweetnam's Nik Naks Store, will go towards supporting The BC Children's Hospital.

This is a family friendly stream and we do ask everyone to be respectful and courteous with their language and chat.

When you make a donation, please add a comment with it or in the chat telling us what donation incentive you would like us to use your donation for. When making larger donations, you are more than welcome to spread it out over multiple incentives or to apply it to several different games or rounds.

We are also very happy to take additional suggestions for donation incentives that we may not have listed. If you have a creative and appropriate idea for something to make the games extra special, please feel free to send your request with your donation or ask us in chat and we'll see what we can make happen!

Star Trek Adventures: First Contact Day 2024!

Check out today’s incentives below to see how you too can join the fun, help the kids, and cause extra chaos for our players!!

•    Incentive #1 - Donate $5: Threatening Motivation! - "Threat" and "Momentum" are the bread and butter resources used in Star Trek adventures that help fuel actions throughout the game. But generating these resources can be tough at times. So why not take it into your own hands? When choosing this option, you can Choose Either Threat or Momentum, and Add 2 Points to either pool!

•    Incentive #2 - Donate $10: Complicated Circumstances - Add an immediate Complication to this scene just to make our Player's lives a little more difficult! This game Utilizes Complications as a mechanism that the GM usually has to purchase with "Threat". Well, why not just skip the Middle man, and purchase a Complication right away! 

•    Incentive #3 - Donate $15: Changing "Q"-ualities! - Much like our favourite Omnipotent being from Star Trek, we are giving YOU the ability to change something about the scene! (*within limits...no changing locales or insta-deaths...) Physically Change an object into something else, add a helpful (or unhelpful) object to the scene, change someone's appearance, or even add a non violent NPC! Feel Free to get creative! (*see above)

•    Incentive #4 – Donate $50: Radioactive! –That's right, the fan favourite Formula Sour candy is back yet again!! For each $50 donation, Josiah will have to drink TWO Formula Sours, and keep on GMing like everything is just fine...
