I've pledged to play games and raise funds for kids at my local children's hospital.

how it works

  • Now, more than ever, local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals need our help.

  • I'm uniting with thousands of gamers to offer hope to vulnerable kids.

June 29/ 30th, I will again be playing in our annual Dungeons & Dragons marathon, where we will gather at a local game store to play through an adventure over 24 hours. We are doing something a little different- we'll still play 24 hours, but it will be 12 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday to make it easier on people and allow some to participate who could not do 24 straight. I don't know what I'll be playing so I don't know if I'll need to make a new character or will have to use one I already have.

In years past, we have received in-game boons for donations received, such as healing potions, rerolls, or the ability to return a dead character to life. There has been no official word on this yet, but it is expected there will be some in-game benefits again this year. Typically they have been: Get advantage on a roll for $25, Healing Potion for $50, and Raise Dead for $100.

I have added negative effects that can be applied to my character in-game if you want to make things more difficult for my character. You can give the DM the power to do things such as make me reroll a die, turn a normal hit against my character into a critical hit, or let the DM come up with his own ideas.

If you are unable to donate at this time, I understand. I don't want anyone to donate money they need to pay their bills. If you can spare one dollar, however, that would be great. If everyone who sees this donates just a single dollar, I would have a pretty decent amount of money that would be going to a hospital and sick children who desperately need help. If you wish to give more than $1, that's awesome!

Pick my shirt: I typically wear a shirt from a metal band when I game, so you can pick which band I will wear for the event. Because it is now a two day event, you can pick what I wear both days! Choose from Alice Cooper, Amon Amarth, Angelus Apatrida, Anthrax, Billy Joel, Black Sabbath, Cannibal Corpse, Danzig, Death Angel, Dio, Dropkick Murphys, Exodus, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kid Rock, Kiss, Kreator, L.A. Guns, Lamb of God, Metallica, Milwaukee Metal Fest, Motley Crue, Motorhead, Obituary, Overkill, Pantera, Sabaton, Slayer, Tesla, or Testament. Pick two from that list. Or, Alice Cooper, Anthrax, Dropkick Murphys, Milwaukee Metal Fest, Motley Crue, Overkill (two copies of the same shirt), and Slayer are the bands I have multiple shirts for so you could pick them for both days if you prefer.
