I've pledged to play games and raise funds for kids at my BC Children's Hospital.
24-hour D&D Marathon
We're at it again! It's our 7th annual Extra Life 24-hour D&D game for charity!
Gather close and witness the adventures of a bunch of nerds as they play Dungeons & Dragons for 24 hours. However, they gather to champion a goal greater still: to raise money for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation's Hospital Foundation and the younglings it benefits. Working with the Extra Life charity organization, they shall march forth to victory, dice in hand and friends by their sides. These adventurers may be delving the dungeons but the true heroes are those who might ensure that this undertaking is not in vain: those who would donate to their worthy cause.
Possible rewards await those who choose to donate to our cause. Every $5CAD you donate enters you into a draw to win some cool stuff. Stay tuned to this page to see what epic loot you could win!
For those interested in playing: There will be 3 8-hour sessions I'll be running starting and ending at midnight. So, sessions will be as follows: Saturday 0000 - 0800 0800 - 1600 1600 - 0000 Sunday Contact us at https://www.big-pear.com/contact with your availability and preferred time(s) and I'll try to make it happen. Once I've confirmed a spot for you, log on or create an Extra Life profile, join our group (see the donation link above for the group page). Due to some people bowing out of past events last-minute, I'll be asking for a $5 non-refundable deposit in the form of a donation. The money will also buy you an inspiration point that will go into the Inspiration Point Pool from which everyone will be able to draw. (as with every year, a $5 donation will result in an Inspiration Point being added to the pool). The deposit will cover all the sessions you play, should you play more than one. If for whatever reason you are unable to attend and need to bow out, the Inspiration Point will remain in the pool.
Kyle Cardigan: Nazi Hunter
This will be my first video game marathon for Extra Life. On November 7th I'll be playing video games until I've taken down (at least) 10,000 Nazis!
Rules I've set for myself:
- Must frag at least 10,000 nazis, however long that takes. - Killing nazi zombies, robots or other automated constructs, or animals do not count: Nazi zombies are not as evil as their bigoted counterparts, and robots and animals can't help it if their humans are living piles of rancid garbage. - Manned vehicles carrying an unknown number of nazis only count as 1 kill.
how it works
Now, more than ever, local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals need our help.
I'm uniting with thousands of gamers to offer hope to vulnerable kids.
