Reddit Extra Life 2017

Dear Friends and Family,

It's time for Extra-Life 2017!  Because of you, the last two years were awesome so I need your help to make this year even awesome-er.  My local Children's Miracle Network Hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few. Your donation is tax deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.

What's Happening?

Beginning Saturday, November 4th at 8 a.m. I'll be participating in a 25 hour gaming marathon.  Why 25 hours? Because game day happens on Daylight Savings time. That means I'll be live streaming a feed of myself playing games and acting like a goof with minimal breaks, all to raise donations for the children of the Levine Children's Hospital of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Since 2010, Extra Life has raised more than $14 million to help children's hospitals provide critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, research and charitable care.

How Can You Help?

The simple answer is: By sponsoring me in this gaming marathon. However, I want to make this more interesting for everyone by giving a few donation options.

Make A Flat Donation

You can choose to make a one-time or monthly repeating donation for whatever amount you choose. Any amount helps, no matter how great or small.  To make a flat donation, simply click Support Me and select your donation amount. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.

Sponsor An Hour

You can also choose to sponsor one or many hours of the marathon.  What does an hour sponsor get?

  • A shout-out at the top, bottom, and half hour mark of your sponsor hour(s) during my Twitch live stream.
  • A message of your choosing to be prominently displayed and read aloud during my live stream.
  • Premium Face Painting! Reserving a face painting block to have my awesome wife Liz make me look goofy at your request.  Face painting is only available during the donation blocks indicated in the Sponsor Table. Face painting is limited this year, so donate early!

Your message can be anything - positive or negative, outlandish or heartwarming, images or logos, URLs or domains. It's up to you! This is for the kids, so I'll read and display anything you want. (Excluding libelous/slanderous statements about third parties.  We don't want anyone to get sued). So get creative!  Some examples:

  • "This donation is honor of Cindy who is recovering from Leukemia. Get well soon, Cindy!"
  • "Mike has an ugly butt and a stupid butt."
  • "The Freedom For Animals Association on Second Avenue is the secret headquarters of the Army of the Twelve Monkeys. They're the ones who are going to do it. I can't do any more. I have to go now. Have a merry Christmas!"

To sponsor an hour, check the sponsor table below for available hours and rates. Once you know which hour(s) you want to sponsor, click Support Me and choose the minimum sponsor amount to cover your desired hour(s).  In the "Message to Michael" text box indicate which hour(s) you've selected, how you want your message to appear, and how you wish to be addressed on the live stream. I'm happy to make shout-outs by name, business name, Twitter handle, podcast name, or whatever you want.  Or if you wish to remain anonymous, just say so. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
