BETRAYAL (so many versions) - 3-6 players.
Betrayal at House on the Hill quickly builds suspense and excitement as players explore a haunted mansion of their own design, encountering spirits and frightening omens that foretell their fate. With an estimated one hour playing time, Betrayal at House on the Hill is ideal for parties, family gatherings or casual fun with friends. Secretly, one of the characters betrays the rest of the party, and the innocent members of the party must defeat the traitor in their midst before it’s too late! Betrayal at House on the Hill will appeal to any game player who enjoys a fun, suspenseful, and strategic game.
DARK MOON - 3-7 players. You are a crew member on a deep space mining expedition to Titan, the dark moon of Saturn. During a routine excavation, an “incident” occurs whereby some of the crew become infected with an unknown virus, and become paranoid, deceitful, and violent, trying to destroy the others.
EXPLODING KITTENS - 2-5 players. A kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette. Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and loses the game. The deck is made up of cards that let you avoid exploding by peeking at cards before you draw, forcing your opponent to draw multiple cards, or shuffling the deck. The game gets more and more intense with each card you draw because fewer cards left in the deck means a greater chance of drawing the kitten and exploding in a fiery ball of feline hyperbole.
GLOOM - 2-4 players. In the Gloom card game, you assume control of the fate of an eccentric family of misfits and misanthropes. The goal of the game is sad, but simple: you want your characters to suffer the greatest tragedies possible before passing on to the well-deserved respite of death. You'll play horrible mishaps like Pursued by Poodles or Mocked by Midgets on your own characters to lower their Self-Worth scores, while trying to cheer your opponents' characters with marriages and other happy occasions that pile on positive points. The player with the lowest total Family Value wins.
HUMAN ERA - 4-10 players. A social deduction game in which you and your crew are aboard the last time machine to save space and time from the chaos unleashed by the haphazard time traveling of humans. However, among your crew are machines and cyborgs disguised as humans with their own goals in mind. Achieve your goal of repairing or destroying the space-time continuum before fuel runs out!
LOVE LETTER - 2-4 players. All of the eligible young men (and many of the not-so-young) seek to woo the princess of Tempest. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and you must rely on others to take your romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first? Your goal is to get your love letter into Princess Annette's hands while deflecting the letters from competing suitors.
PHANTOM SOCIETY - 2-4 players. A ghost-hunting game in which you play as sly spirits seeking to ruin a manor hotel or, if you prefer, intrepid ectoplasm hunters who are a bit destructive around the edges but who also never falter in pursuit of their prey. For the ghosts, the goal is to inflict at least £45,000 of damage (in tribute to Special 45 – Old Faydhutee Single Malt) on the manor, whether it is inflicted by the ghosts or the hunters. The ghost hunters want to stop the ghosts before they achieve their objective.
7TH SEA - 7th Sea is a tabletop roleplaying game of swashbuckling and intrigue, exploration and adventure, taking place on the continent of Theah, a land of magic and mystery inspired by our own Europe. Players take the roles of heroes thrown into global conspiracies and sinister plots, exploring ancient ruins of a race long vanished and protecting the rightful kings and queens of Theah from murderous villains.
BEDLAM HALL - 3-5 players. The family is strange. The house is cursed. The weather is dreadful. Welcome to Bedlam Hall.
Powered by the Apocalypse, players take the terrible role of servants for the Blackwood family who are quite… different. The family’s troubles run the gamut between inconvenient relationships to terror-driven fits that can turn bloody and violent. Not quite the best employers to work for, in any sense of the word. Coupled with the house’s own peculiarities and an overwhelming need to maintain one’s own skeletons in the closet, every member of staff has their hands full to say the least.
Can you manage to survive the strange happenings and the family’s unnatural behavior while still keeping the house under control and your references in order? Play to find out (But we wouldn't count on it.)
BLADES IN THE DARK - 3-6 players. Blades in the Dark is a tabletop role-playing game about a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are heists, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches to be had — if you’re bold enough to seize them.
You and your fledgling crew must thrive amidst the threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren song of your scoundrel’s own vices. Will you rise to power in the criminal underworld? What are you willing to do to get to the top?
BLUEBEARD'S BRIDE - 3-5 players. A young bride is wed to an ugly, but powerful man with a blue beard. He invites her to explore the house...but one room is forbidden. Eventually, the young bride falls prey to her curiosity and opens it, discovering the gruesome display of former brides murdered...
Explore Bluebeard's mansion and create your own beautifully tragic version of the dark fairy tale with Bluebeard's Bride. Experience the nightmarish memories that haunt the rooms of this broken place and discover the truth of what happened here. But it is up to you and your friends to decide whether or not you are a faithful or disloyal bride.
Bluebeard's Bride is an investigatory horror tabletop roleplaying game that makes use of the same rules-light engine as Apocalypse World, Monsterhearts, and Urban Shadows to create stories of feminine horror in the vein of Crimson Peak, American Horror Story, and The Company of Wolves.
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER - The graveyard is cold and still. Bright moonlight deepens the shadows. The silence is disturbed by a throaty moan. Breaking through the soft, recently packed earth, a claw extends, sharp and grasping. A sickly sweet stench rises with the corpse. Desperate hunger is etched on it cadaverous face―a hunger for your blood!
The Buffy RPG uses a cinematic system that allows one person to act as the Director while other players portray characters modeled after the Slayer herself and the rest of the Scooby-gang.
CROSSROADS CARNIVAL - 3-5 players. Dust storms came suddenly and hit hard. You couldn’t see more than three feet in front of you. The chaos created enough static electricity to power cities. Blue flames licked off of barbed wire. People dragged chains behind them to help offset the electricity and touching someone could give enough of a shock to knock full grown men off their feet.
The phrase “if it rains” became permanently etched on the lips of farmers.
It was the end of times.
It was a good time to be in the entertainment business.
Beneath the midway lights of the Crossroads Carnival, you and your fellow performers are drawn into an aged battle between light and dark. You wander from one desperate town to the next, struggling to keep your humanity and save the souls of the rubes. But the cost is high, and personal deals with the darkness itself may be the only way to save others.
Crossroads Carnival is a tabletop roleplaying game that makes use of the same rules-light engine as Apocalypse World, Monsterhearts, and Bluebeard’s Bride to create stories of outcast souls similar to Penny Dreadful, The Night Circus, and Carnivale.
DIE LAUGHING - 4-8 players. Die Laughing is a short-play, GM-less tabletop roleplaying game where players portray characters in a horror-comedy movie. Everyone's going to die. It's just a matter of when and how funny you can make it.
After your character is gone, you become a producer on the movie and continue to influence the story and mess with the other characters right up until the bloody end.
Die Laughing requires just a few minutes of preparation to play. Players choose characters and make a few, quick choices. Then you just pick a monster and you’re ready to die.
DRAGON AGE - It has been hundreds of years since the last Blight ravaged the world of Thedas. Many believe that it can never happen again, that the Dragon Age will pass without the rise of such evil. They are wrong. Beneath the earth the darkspawn stir. A new archdemon has risen and with it a Blight that will scourge the lands and darken the skies. The nations of Thedas need a new generation of heroes, but who will answer the call?
Fantasy roleplaying goes back to its dark and gritty roots with the Dragon Age RPG, the latest game from the company that brought you A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying and Mutants & Masterminds. Based on the highly anticipated Dragon Age: Origins computer game, the Dragon Age RPG brings the excitement of BioWare's rich fantasy world to the tabletop. Make your own heroes and control your own destiny as a Blight comes to Thedas once again.
DREAD - Dread is a game of horror and hope. Those who play will participate in a mutual telling of an original macabre tale. The goal of Dread is to sustain the delicate atmosphere that invokes the hand quivering emotion that lends its name to the game. The thrill of a Dread game lies within the tension between desire and loss. You will take on the role of someone trapped in a story that is only as compelling as it is hostile—someone who will find themselves making decisions we hope never to face in real life.
It is the horror roleplaying game that uses Jenga® instead of dice. Pull from the tower and you succeed. Refuse to pull and you fail. The choice is yours. But if the tower falls...
DRESDEN FILES - Tell Us Your Story
Beneath the "normal" surface of the world are things and people which most of us don't want to know about, and will do our best to forget about if we ever come near them. People won't see what they don't want to see.
But that's most of us. And you-you're not most of us.
What's Your Story?
Whether you're a champion of God, changeling, vampire, werewolf, wizard, or plain "vanilla" mortal human being, this volume of The Dresden Files RPG gives you all the rules you need to build characters and tell your own stories in the Dresdenverse. Inside, you'll uncover the secrets of spellcasting, the extents of mortal and supernatural power, and the hidden occult reality of the unfamiliar city you call home.
D&D 5TH Ed. - Come on, does this one really need an introduction?
FIASCO - 3-5 players. Fiasco is an award-winning GM-less game for 3-5 players, designed to be played in a few hours with six-sided dice and no preparation. During a game you will engineer and play out stupid, disastrous situations, usually at the intersection of greed, fear, and lust. It's like making your own Coen brothers movie, in about the same amount of time it'd take to watch one.
THINGS CAN GO WRONG, FAST...
...Maybe some dude from youth group talked you into boosting a case of motor oil, but now your cousin is dead in a swamp and you killed him. Maybe you and your girlfriend figured you could scare your wife into a divorce, but things went pear-shaped and now a gang of cranked-up skinheads with latex gloves and a pit bull are looking for you.
It seemed like such a good idea at the time.
Fiasco is inspired by cinematic tales of small time capers gone disastrously wrong - inspired by films like Blood Simple, Fargo, The Way of the Gun, Burn After Reading, and A Simple Plan. You'll play ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. There will be big dreams and flawed execution. It won't go well for them, to put it mildly, and in the end it will probably all go south in a glorious heap of jealousy, murder, and recrimination. Lives and reputations will be lost, painful wisdom will be gained, and if you are really lucky, your guy just might end up back where he started.
HOUSES OF THE BLOODED - Ambition. Lust. Revenge. You cannot have one without the others.
Thousands of years ago, the ven ruled the world. They were a passionate people, obsessed with Romance and Revenge, opera and theater, and all the forbidden delights their decadent culture provided. In the end, that which made them beautiful was also the key to their own destruction. Houses of the Blooded is a game about tragic obsession. Set in the fantastic world of ven myth and legend, players take the roles of powerful characters bent on conquering their world, destroying their enemies and possessing all they desire.
MONSTERHEARTS - Monsterhearts lets you and your friends create stories about sexy monsters, teenage angst, personal horror, and secret love triangles. When you play, you explore the terror and confusion that comes both with growing up and feeling like a monster.
Based on the Apocalypse World engine, this is a game with emergent story, messy relationships, a structured MC role, and a focus on hard choices.
Monsterhearts draws on source material like Twilight, True Blood, Ginger Snaps, Jennifer's Body, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Misfits, The Vampire Diaries, An American Werewolf in London, Cursed, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
If you like supernatural romances, or stories of monstrosity and personal horror, or if you just like watching sexy people ruin their lives, then you’ll love this game.
NOBILIS - In Nobilis, players take on the roles of the Sovereign Powers, each the personification of one single aspect of reality: night, roads, ecstasy, chains, time, water - whatever the players can conceive of. Once human, each character has been forever changed, imbued with awesome power and terrible responsibility. Heaven and Hell, angels and devils, the Giants and the Old Gods - in Nobilis, all are united in the Great War against the Excrucians, whose goal is to destroy all Creation - but all are divided by their own plots and ancient rivalries, as well.
ORUN - Eons ago, we were a desperate and different people, all vying for dominance of the galaxy. Fearful... Angry... Greedy... Shaped by petty desires... When the beings called Orisha came, they showed us a better way. Worlds flourished. The peoples of the galaxy were happy. They guided us to apotheosis, transcendence from the physical reality and expansion of our Ori.
Then, with a single stray thought, it was all torn apart. The mnemonic Sopona virus was discovered and spread. Worlds fell into gibbering catatonic states, others hurt themselves in unspeakable ways, and all that stood against the psychic maelstrom was the Union of Ascendancy and some of the ascendant, the Oluru, who returned. Ultimately the war was won, the Sopona virus contained, and order restored... but the secret of apotheosis was lost.
That was over 500 years ago.
In Orun, you play an envoy of the ascendant Oluru, called a Djali or Luminary. Not quite ascendant themselves, the Luminaries travel to different worlds as advisors, troubleshooters, and peacekeepers in the post-apotheosis galaxy. They explore lost star systems and ultimately help enlighten worlds and their people, waking the galaxy from its disordered indolence.
PASION DE LAS PASIONES - 3-5 players. Sit on the couch with la familia and turn on Pasión de las Pasiones, a PbtA tabletop role-playing game of desire, betrayal, and family inspired by the telenovelas of Latin America. You’ll play the heroes, lovers, schemers, and villains of the world’s most dramatic and exciting telenovela: Pasión de las Pasiones. At the same time, you’ll also play a Latino family gasping, jeering, and swooning at home.
Lies will be exposed, plots will be shattered, hearts will be broken. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll even throw El Generalísimo off a boat and get a happy ending filled with flowers, dancing, and romance. Of course, never ‘happy’ or ‘ending’ enough to stop tomorrow’s episode from plunging you back into the fray.
Because if you didn’t see the body, they’ll be back.
RYUUTAMA - Ryuutama is an RPG developed in Japan by designer Atsuhiro Okada. It is set in a world where the "NPCs" of the village--the bakers, farmers, shopkeepers and healers--set off on a wonderful adventure exploring a fantasy world together. Some people colloquially call it "Hayao Miyazaki's Oregon Trail", because of its heartwarming (in Japanese "honobono") feel of family anime, and its focus on traveling and wonder over combat and treasure.
STAR CROSSED - A two-player game about really, really wanting to, when you really, really can’t. It's about the excitement, tension, and heartbreak of romance!
In Star Crossed, you’ll craft characters who are powerfully attracted to each other, but have a compelling reason not to act on their feelings. Some of the things you’ll want your character to do are going to increase that attraction— and when that happens, you are going to pull a brick out from an increasingly shaky tower and place it on the top. If the tower falls, your characters act on their feelings! Will your love be doomed, triumphant, or something in-between? Find out in STAR CROSSED!
TEN CANDLES - Ten days ago, the sky betrayed you. The world went dark. The sun vanished. Five days ago, They came. And now They're coming for you. Keep moving. Don't lose hope. And stay in the light.
Ten Candles is a tragic horror tabletop roleplaying game based around cooperative storytelling. It is designed for one-shot sessions (rather than ongoing campaigns) and can be played with any number of players and one gamemaster. A game of Ten Candles lasts 2-3 hours. Players take the roles of survivors in the middle of a sunless apocalypse, living out the last few hours of their character's lives. The gamemaster controls Them, the unseen adversaries who stalk just beyond the light's edge. But this isn't a story about monsters. This is a story about what happens in the dark. What happens to those who fight against it, seek hope within it, and inevitably become consumed by it.
