On November 4th, noon EST, the Tech Valley Game Space game developer community at the capital region of NY will be playing games for 25 hours to raise funds for sick kids at our local children's hospital.

One of largest and most active game developer community in the capital region of New York is on a mission to help sick and injured kids in our local region and we need your help!  To help raise funds and awareness, we're participating in this huge worldwide movement called Extra Life.  Gamers and developers of all kinds pledge to play everything from video games to board games and tabletop RPG's for 25 hours (don't forget the daylight savings) at 30 3rd Street, Troy, NY!  It's our sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support our efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift.

How does it work?

Our Extra Life Team fundraising page combines the donations raised by each individual to a single location.  To donate, click on the Roster tab at the top of this page.  Click on the name of your favorite team member to go to their page.  Choose wisely, because a few of them are providing donation incentives!  Make sure to check out each one of them, and read their page carefully.  A free game might be waiting for you!

Once you've chosen one or more member to donate to, just click the "donate" button on their page, and you're good to go!  Remember that 100% of your money will go directly to our local children's hospital.  Plus, it'll be tax-deductible!

Are there alternative ways to donate at your venue?

Yes there are!  We accept cash and check donations at our physical venue as well.  Please note that for you to receive the tax-deductible receipt, we'll have a computer ready to log your address information in.

But wait, there's more!

To add a little bit of fun and online audience participation, we will be committing to the following stretch goals for our Twitch live-stream posted at the top of the page:

  • $100 - We'll best Syobon Action (also known as Cat Mario) live on Twitch.
  • $500 - Taro Omiya, a local prolific indie game developer, will play over 20 games he developed!
  • $1,000 - We have to beat Pooh's Homerun Derby.  Especially the legendary Christopher Robin.
  • $1,500 - The event organizers will select their least favorite game music, and force two hosts to listen to them while playing Beat Hazard.

And Also...

As it turns out, Extra Life happens to coincide with our 3rd Anniversary.  As such, for those able to attend our venue, not only will there be games of all kinds, but snacks and cake as well.  So come along, and let's celebrate the new milestone by making a positive impact in the world!

Thank you so much for supporting our team's efforts, and for saving kids' lives!
