My Story

Dear Friends, Family, Strangers, and Fellow Fitchburgians,

For the eighth year in a row I will be participating in Extra Life and playing games for 24 hours to raise money for the wonderful Baystate Children’s Hospital, located in Springfield, Massachusetts. They treat thousands of children each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. The work they do is vitally important to the area. All 24 hours will once again be streamed live on the internet so you can watch me play games and chat with other viewers. You can view the stream during the event on my Twitch channel. I'll be kicking things off at noon eastern on Saturday, November 21 and going until noon on November 22.

Extra Life is a hugely meaningful experience for me. It has been, without a doubt, one of the biggest highlights of every year I have participated. Coming together to raise money to help kids, building a feeling of community with viewers, playing the games that I grew up with for a really good cause- it has such a sense of purpose. I want to do everything I can to help the fantastic work that Baystate does. Every year you have amazed me with your generosity, and once again, I’m looking for some help.

What you can do

If you would like to support what I'm doing, here are some ways you can help my efforts.

If you are able to, you can make a donation right here on my Extra Life fundraising page by clicking the “Support this participant” button. I appreciate, so much, any amount you are able to give. Want a little extra incentive? Scroll down to find out about some prizes you could win, and how your donation could force me eat food I hate.

I also really appreciate it when people spread the word, as well as when people watch the stream. The more people who are watching, the easier it is to get through all those hours. If you want to help spread the word, you can direct people here with the easy to share link: extralifejames.net

Again, I hugely appreciate anything you do to help me raise money for Baystate Children’s Hospital.

This year I'm trying to cross the $1,000 mark for the sixth year in a row, and I would love it if you came along for the ride in any way you are able to. We can do a lot of good together!

Prizes

$100 Amazon gift card

$25 Amazon gift card

More prizes may be added

Every $5 donated is one ticket in the raffle.

Prizes will be drawn after donations close on December 31.

Incentives

Once again, you can put your donation toward making me suffer. I don't know why this is so effective, but every year it helps bring in more donations, so I'll always do it.

If you donate at least $25, you can force me to eat a banana. I hate bananas, more than I could describe here with words, and if you make a donation of at least $25 and mention bananas in the comments, I will eat one live on the stream and you can watch me suffer through it.

Wrap up
