This year, I'm putting more than my money on the line.
Okay, so here's the deal. Even though I moved away from the Flint area years ago, I still try to do what I can to give back to those still there. I've been fortunate enough in the last few years, but the kids of Hurley Children's Hospital need more help than one person can provide. So, I'm teaming up with the fine people of Imgur to spend 24 hours gaming and streaming (and at my age, that's harder than it sounds) to support those unfortunate enough to need it.
However, the last three years haven't gotten as much support as I've hoped. As such, I've done something drastic.
Due to popular demand, I've made a change to the goal action I've set. Everyone is able to allocate their donations toward whether I have my beard shaved live on stream in November or not.
Here are those instructions I mentioned
To make your voice heard, make a public note in your donation window saying whether you want it to go toward the SHAVE total or the DO NOT SHAVE total. (You can still make your donation anonymous if you prefer.) If we make the $3,000 goal, whichever side has the most in its bucket wins.
Extra Life is a 24-hour fundraising and gaming marathon to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
On Game Day (tentatively scheduled for November 7), I will join the thousands of gamers and dedicate an entire day to play games (to be streamed live on my Twitch channel) and get donations from friends like YOU! In addition, if my goal is reached, and the pro-shave side donates more than the anti-shave side, I will have my beard shaved live on stream.
