Great, how do I get started?
You'll need a device to stream with (desktop/laptop, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4)!
Download or login to a streaming app to your desktop (like Streamlabs, OBS, Lightstream or XSplit). Have a console? Your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will have apps to stream directly from console (Twitch, Mixer or YouTube)!
Set up an account with a streaming service (Twitch, YouTube, Mixer).
You'll need something to broadcast your gaming! PC or console:
Set your Chatbot to share your donation link when your streaming.
**Pro-tip** add #donate to the end of your participant URL (non-customized) to bring donors right to the payment screen!
Xbox extras to customize your stream
Explore options to customize your stream using Lightstream and Mixer!
Once you have your device, streaming software/service and accounts setup, add your streaming username to your fundraising page by clicking Your Page, then clicking the pencil icon to edit. This allows you to stream to Twitch, Mixer and YouTube and have the stream directly embedded on your Extra Life page! Your donors can interact and chat with you AND donate with ease!
Here's the steps to connect your stream to your page
On extra-life.org. add your streaming username to your fundraising page & save – you're ready to go!
Click Your Page in the top bar
Click the Settings tab on your page
Choose your service and enter your username
Note: YouTube requires you to enter the full URL to the live video, not your YouTube username
Click Save Changes
Share the link to your fundraising page through social media, text messages, your chatbot and email.
When you start streaming from your streaming software (Streamlabs OBS, OBS, Lightstream, XSplit) or console, your stream will appear on your fundraising page!
Don't forget to check out our broadcasting toolkit for additional overlays, commercial breaks, talking points and more.

I'm on a mission to save kids and I need your help. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
Throughout 2020, I'll be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG's! You can watch recordings of the full marathon on both my Twitch and YouTube channels:
I am also excited to announce that this summer marks my fourth year as a member of the official Extra Life Stream Team. The Stream Team is comprised of a bunch of us "Extra Lifers" from all across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We have the privilege of broadcasting our gameplay on the official Extra Life channel: https://www.twitch.tv/extralife4kids.
It's my sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to my hospital. But it doesn't stop there - the fundraising continues until December 31st, 2020, and I plan many special streaming events throughout the year - such as my Spring Indie Gaming-a-thon and my 12 Days of Christmas Gaming (check the schedule on my Twitch channel for exact dates and times).
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids. Neither I, nor the Extra Life organization take one penny of your donation - 100% goes to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
I need your help to reach my ongoing goal For The Kids at CHOP. My goal will continue to rise as the donations come in - this year's overall goal for all gamers supporting CHOP is $300,000! I know we can meet and beat that challenge! Please make a safe, easy, and if desired, anonymous donation online today. Click the "Support This Participant" button on this page to get started. Thank you so much for supporting my efforts, and to everyone who made last year's event such a success - over $250,000 was raised for CHOP in 2019!
