Extra Life 2019

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and read about my cause.  Your time is appreciated and it does not go unnoticed.
What is Extra Life and where does my donation go??
Extra life is a non-profit charitable organization made up of 50,000 gamers of all types that team up to raise money for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.  Since 2008, they have raised more than $50 million for Children's Hospitals across North America; $13.48 million in 2018 alone.  100 percent...  let me say that again... 100 PERCENT of YOUR donation will go to Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C. for patient services, equipment, deferment of treatment cost, and research.  Extra Life does not skim off the top of donation dollars.
How did I find out about Extra Life?
I found Extra Life this year from an ad on Facebook.  After some hurried research, I found out that the National Game Day is on November 2nd this year which is my birthday.  I was sold.  (Extra Lifers fundraise year-round, but the National Game Day is one day when everyone gets together to play games for 24 hours to raise money together).
 What is "My Why"?

When Emma was about 3 days old, we brought her in for a weight check at the pediatrician.  She was found to be hypothermic which is a sign of infection.  She was transferred to the Emergency Department and subsequently airlifted by the Children's National flight team to the NICU at Children's.  The flight team met us in the ER before they lifted off and we were able to talk to the Flight Nurse who was amazing and comforting.  When we arrived at the hospital, the Doctor on-call met with us personally and briefed us in on the plan of care and how they would proceed.  She stayed in the NICU for almost 11 days receiving IV antibiotics and blood testing.  Everyone from the neonatologists, the nursing staff, and the administrative staff were so great, comforting, and supportive.  This is why I Extra Life and why I have decided to donate to Children's National.
