                                    My Story

This year has been a really trying time for me and my family. May 1st is the first time a doctor said the words "Testicular cancer" to me. The following weeks while I waited on test results were some of the longest and trying times in my life.

It was a thursday like any other, my husband and I came in to get results from my second ultrasound at the hospital, and I was admitted right there and then. Less then a day later I was in surgery and they had removed my right testicle, which housed a tumor.

The pathology later confirmed the tumor was cancerous, and we were right to take it out.

This was the first time in my life I had been through the medical system as a patient with a serious condition. I was fragile, more scared then I can articulate, and didn't know how to make plans for more then a day in advance. I lived in hours, not days or weeks, when you are in treatment your condition is all you can think about.

I now have that insight, and that's why the Stollery is so important. With their specilized treatments and trained staff, the kids there can still feel like kids. Their treatment doesn't have to the be the only part of their day. Your donations help these children get back to riding bikes and splashing in puddles.

Please look at some of the children in your life, your family and circle of friends, make a donation so kids like them can keep being kids.

                                  Goals!

  • $2500 CDN ($2000 USD) - Last year we made twelve cheesecakes, this year were going for the moon! Let's eat cheesecake and make this a banner year for the Stollery!

The event will take place at West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta, November 2, 2019
