So... What is Extra Life?
Extra Life is a program of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that unites gamers from across the globe to play games to change kids' health to change the future. Extra Life is also a global digital community that engages passion-fueled fundraisers within the gaming community and live-streaming interest groups/industries.
All donations raised through Extra Life benefit pediatric patients at 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals in the U.S. and Canada. Since 2008, Extra Lifers have raised more than $100 Million for local children's hospitals. For several years, Extra Life has remained one of the top 30 peer-to-peer fundraising programs in North America. Extra Life is a movement, formed by gamers bonded by their passion and commitment to changing kids' health to change the future and we have no doubt that there are more potential Extra Lifers at your workplace that want to join to help make a difference in your local community.
It takes all of us to change kids' health to change the future. By rallying around a company-wide employee activation and helping your co-workers sign-up for Extra Life, we can bring even more unrestricted funds to the 170 member hospitals of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in the United States and Canada.

Start an Extra Life team with your company and create a plan to fundraise for Extra Life. What's the first step? Registering for Extra Life of course! Set up a team, assign a Team Captain, and get people to create personal fundraising pages so you and your team can celebrate employees individually and those totals will help your team page too!
When to support Extra Life:
That's the best part! You can choose the best time to support Extra Life. While we see the most activity in August-December, company teams can fundraise whenever you'd like. If you think that sounds a little overwhelming, don't worry. We'll give you some ideas about when and how to create the best Extra Life fundraiser possible for your local member Children's Miracle Network hospital.

Can I speak to someone from CMN Hospitals?
CMN Hospitals is here to support this initiative and the Extra Life team never wants participants to feel like they’re on an island. If participants have questions about fundraising, there are a ton of great resources on the Extra Life Asset Library to use. Start here with this landing page for resources! How do I convert my individual participant page to a Team page?
There are three ways for you to become a Team Captain:
1. The first and easiest way is during your initial registration. When you sign up for your Extra Life account, you can select "Create a Team". From there, you can enter your name and details. In the process of creating the team, you automatically become the Team Captain.
2. If you are already registered as an individual participant, you can become a team captain via your participant dashboard. On the righthand panel, you will see an option to "Change Team Membership". From there, you will create a team and, in doing so, become the Team Captain.
3. If you are already a registered member of a team and you would like to be switched to being the Team Captain (in agreement with the current Team Captain), you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and we can assist in switching you into the Team Captain role.
