I've pledged to run Shadowrun games and raise funds for kids at my local children's hospital along with my living community, Shadowrun Indy.
Here's how it works
Extra Life is a gaming and DIY fundraising platform supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Starting October 25th until November 3rd, volunteers in my community and I will be running and playing various Shadowrun-themed games between mine and other various livestreaming channels. We're here to entertain and also spread the good word about our fundraiser for Riley Children's Hospital!
Several of these games may take place in our homebrew setting of Indianapolis in the world of Shadowrun.
Nicknamed "Chrome City," Indianapolis is the prime hub for all things augmentations in the UCAS after a revitalization by Saeder-Krupp's pet augmentation division following the second Matrix Crash, and a deadly outbreak of bug spirits!
This location, inspired by Deus Ex Human Revolution's chinese city of Hengsha, Chrome City is a golden, towering walled-off city (made up out of interstate 465), surrounding the lawless Undercity (or Lower City) with a tight-knit community of survivors and militia, while above them over a massive divider (known as the "MegaPlate") is a rich, elite corporate Overcity (Upper City) that looks down on them like dust swept under a rug. If that wasn't all, the city's augmentation craze is creating a massive magical mana ebb that's killing the land and causing a number of angry spirits to rise up and resist the technological progress.
This city is rife with political tension, corporate competition, some haunted technology, bot battle-style Rigger Wars, an annual convention featuring the best augmentations in the world, and a whole host of factions working against each other, eager to show off their sweet new chrome, it's a great hotbed for shadowrunners to score some nuyen!
