Extra Life is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ fundraising program that rallies gaming communities from around the globe to support local children’s hospitals. Their Game Day in November unites thousands of gamers around the world to marathon their favorite games in support of their CMN Hospital of choice, and just like traditional marathons, gamers and streamers are sponsored by their friends and family to raise money for their campaigns. For us, that’s where the NACE Starleague and Playfly Esports communities come in.
Our Focus
In partnership with Extra Life and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®, NACE Starleague and Playfly Esports have devoted the focus of our ongoing partnership towards utilizing the power of esports for the betterment of children in need. These efforts will rely greatly on our collegiate community and gamers everywhere to help fundraise on behalf of those in need of treatment and care across the U.S. and Canada.
Our Impact
It all started with a little girl in Orange, Texas.
Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round to Change Kids' Health to Change the Future. Donations go to member children's hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised over $100 million USD to Change Kids' Health to Change the Future.
When you support our Extra Life broadcast, you’re supporting suffering children, from broken bones, to cancer, to depression. You’re helping keep families together – from an overnight stay to a few months of boarding. You’re helping doctors and nurses heal patients with state-of-the-art technology and medical treatments. You’re bringing joy to their hearts; from toys and video games, to fully equipped music therapy rooms.
Our Goal
NACE Starleague and Playfly Esports are working to kickstart our newfound partnership with Extra Life by planning several future fundraising endeavors that will utilize the power of the esports community to change kids' health to change the future for 170 member hospitals of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Who We Are
Playfly Esports connects brands to the gaming community with a focus on building industry-leading consumer activations and providing trusted go-to-market strategies for businesses looking to develop larger footprints in a rapidly evolving sector. Additionally, Playfly Esports oversees operations, marketing, and business development for NACE Starleague, North America's largest collegiate leage with nearly 700 colleges and over 13,000 students, as it advances the competitive experience for student-athletes and provides them with an ideal place to showcase their skills. Playfly Esports works with scholastic partners at all levels including colleges & universities, state and local high school districts, athletic and activities associations, departments of education, and parks & recreation in this new endeavor.
The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of varsity esports programs throughout North America. Together, our members are developing the structure and tools needed to advance collegiate esports in the varsity space. We are collaborating to lay the groundwork in areas such as: Eligibility, Path to Graduation, and Competition & Scholarships. NACE is the largest member association of varsity esports programs at colleges and universities across the U.S.
