For the first time ever, a group of students at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln is organizing to combine two things we love to do: play video games and give back to our community. In celebration, we’re throwing a LAN party!
To kickoff our fundraising efforts and raise awareness about our team, we will gather in the Great Hall of Kauffman Academic Residence Center on Friday Oct. 5th from 8pm to 1am. There will be video games, board games, and prizes! So register yourself and ask friends and family to sponsor you and help help heal kids. A donation of $1 is suggested at the door and for each contest entry. Event details are on Facebook (see link below) or by emailing unlextralife@gmail.com.
We are playing in support of our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On Oct. 20th, 2012, each of us will attempt to play an epic 24 hour video game marathon and it's our sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.
