Since wee baby Jones needed Riley Children's Hospital, it has been near to our hearts.

There are kids and families facing some terrifying health challenges, and places like Riley- Children's Miracle Network Hospitals- treat thousands of kids each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay.

This is a huge help as some of the kids have long-term battles against illness and injuries. It was easy to see, from Rogue's room on the transplant/cranial surgery recovery unit, how many families often have one parent (or other adult relative) stay with the child continuously during treatment. While the kids are facing health conditions that make adults afraid, their families are often also trying to balance life while missing an income and incurring atypical costs (like childcare for siblings, loss of an income, and/or transportation costs). The financial support offered by CMNH helps families survive through hard times.

On Oct. 19th-21st, 2012, we'll play a 24 hour game marathon and it's our sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to join our team or simply sponsor us and support other kids facing serious medical challenges.

Last year, Extra Life raised more than 1.2 million dollars to save kids, but in 2012 our goals, just like the needs are much, much higher. [To give you an idea of scale, our daughter's surgery cost more than our house.]
