A cranial reconstruction surgery at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana saved the life of our team captain’s infant daughter almost three years ago . After her recovery Jim and his wife, Adrienne, decided to host an Extra Life board gaming marathon with their community game night to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
For our first year’s event, we raised a combined $2142 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Last year, we more than doubled that amount to raise a combined $4385 (with our sister team, Great Big Table). As all of our team members had designated Indiana's Riley Hospital for Children to receive their funds, all of that money went to an institution that has touched the lives of so many in our community.
This year, we're at it again!
Saint Peter's Highland UCC is hosting a gaming event throughout the weekend of October 24th (6pm - 9pm), October 25th (7am - 10pm), and October 26th (noon - 6pm), 2014.
Across those three days, our team members and their Extra Life supporters will play an EPIC 24 (and more) hours of board games to raise money for, Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana's Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. We actually ended up playing around 27 hours last year.
If you are a member of the tri-state community, we encourage you to come on over and play games to help raise money to heal sick and injured kids and provide hope and healing for their families.
More details of our 24 Hour Extra Life Board Game Marathon Weekend will be coming soon as we start to hammer out the details and gear up for this year's event.
Watch this space for more information. We have a lot planned and it is sure to be our best year yet.
