It's that time again.
This year, the Rebel FM crew is once again going to subject themselves to 24 hours of live-streamed video games in an Oakland apartment on November 5th, 2016, as we raise money for children's cancer treatment and research in partnership with the Children's Miracle Network. As some of you know, this is a charity dear to us, as we've had the opportunity firsthand to see the kind of work CMN does, the difference they make in the lives of children and families fighting with cancer. This work matters. CMN also helps kids injured in accidents, with cystic fibrosis, and other dangerous illnesses and diseases, and they do all of it regardless of their family's ability to pay.
That alone should be enough to get you to donate! But this year, as usual, we're also sweetening the deal for listeners who chip in. All donors will be thanked live on the stream throughout the day, and again as we close out Sunday morning. Also, donations of a hundred dollars or more will be able to reserve spaces in co-operative and multiplayer games with Rebel FM hosts. Or, if you're a horrible person, a donation of a hundred dollars secures an hour of "troll time," where a host of your choosing will be forced to suffer through a game they especially dislike.
Multiplayer and troll titles will be listed in detail at a later time, though you can safely assume Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1 and other big games for the former and perennial frustration fests like the Souls series for the latter, as well as others. You can donate now, before those lists are posted, and reserve your right to message us with your requests before the event.
Since 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $22 million to help children's hospitals provide critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, research and charitable care.
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
