Thanks for visiting my page! Please make a donation by clicking on the "Donate" button! This is my THIRD year participating in Extra Life. Thanks to you, I raised just over $1,500 in 2013 and $2,200 in 2014.
DONATE, SUPPORT, AND WATCH ME ON GAME DAY, November 5TH!
My livestream is at www.twitch.tv/wongJP - drop by on Saturday, 11/5!
For two years I supported Children's Hospital Orange County (CHOC) in California. My friends John & Sandy have two children: Jordan and Kayla-Kana Both are "preemies" and were born earlier than expected. The staff at CHOC provided the care necessary to keep 'em strong.
I met Howard Phillips, Nintendo of America's Game Master, when I was a kid. True story. I love video games and Twitch livestream (at random). Thanks for visiting my page!
Here's a preview of this year's prizes. Donation tiers and a list are coming soon:
Thanks to good friends (both in the gaming industry and away), I'll have be raffling off prizes as a “thank you” for supporting my fundraiser :) I will draw names from a hat AFTER the marathon on November 5th (date to be specified soon), so late donors get a chance, too! I will mail out the non-digital prizes one week after the marathon. Watch this page for updates on the prize list!
Why Extra Life?
I first participated in Extra Life because of my friends John & Sandy. Here is their childrens' story...
JORDAN KAZUKI was born in 2008 at 24 weeks gestation. He weighed 1lb12ozs and measured 11.25 inches long. He had a rough start in life as he was on the ventilator, had multiple surgeries to his heart, eyes, and intestines. He fought through and made it home to us after 159 long days in the NICU. Jordan is now an active and healthy 8-year-old who loves practicing his judo moves on his dad, and enjoys Minecraft and Star Wars! He recently started school as a 3rd grader and is enjoying his time with his teachers and friends!
KAYLA KANA was born in October of 2013, making her debut into the world 13 weeks ahead of schedule. She was born at 27 weeks gestation, weighed 2lb2ozs, and measured 14 inches long. Although she didn't have as many respiratory issues as her older brother, she stayed in the NICU for 97 days in order to grow bigger and stronger. She had some feeding issues in the beginning but quickly learned to coordinate and adapt and has grown to become a feisty and independent 2-year-old, who loves anything and everything Star Wars and Disney!! She also loves to play and fight with big brother, Jordan. =)
As parents of little preemies, we never wish for any parent to go through what we did. No parent should have to experience life in the NICU. But if it weren't for the journey of our kids, we would not have had the opportunity to meet the amazing people who work day in and day out to keep these little miracles alive and strong. We are forever grateful for the nurses, doctors, therapists, and staff of the NICU department.
Here's a 2-minute recap of my successful Extra Life marathon from 2013!
It's my sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to my hospital.
I appreciate your time and consideration. I hope I can be supportive of a charitable effort of yours in the future!
