Dear Friends and Family,

I confess that I am a little burned out on fundraising, after last year's efforts to raise money to help my daughter start college. But I am back now to support the programs of Seattle Children's Hospital, which is part of the Children's Miracle Network. Seattle Children's and the other hospitals in the network treat thousands and thousands of kids each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. Particularly relevant to my interests, Seattle Children's also hosts a Transgender and Gender-Diverse Children Support Group.

This year, I'm participating in the Tabletop Appreciation Weekend. The Magic: The Gathering team will be doing a 24 hour live stream on from 9/17 at 8am to 9/18 at 8am. I will be celebrating my weird sort of in-between role as a former Dungeons & Dragons writer now working on Magic: The Gathering (and author of the Plane Shift crossover articles) by running a special session of my D&D campaign set in the Magic world of Innistrad. We'll be playing on Saturday, September 17, from 8 AM to noon.

Because of that burnout I mentioned, this year I've set my goal low, to only 10% of what you all helped me raise in 2013. It's a small target, but it's part of a much larger effort on the part of Wizards of the Coast and other gaming companies. The Magic team alone hopes to raise at least $35,000 this year! I dearly hope that you can help us reach our goals and support our efforts with a donation to Seattle Children's Hospital. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.

More information to come as we get closer to the date.

Thank you so much for your support!
